Bruce Cannon is employed by BlueScope Steel as a Welding Engineer, and is married to Anne with whom they have four children.
Musically, Bruce has been playing both cornet and trumpet since the age of 9, learning his musical craft through the Ballarat Soldiers Sailors and Airman’s Memorial Band.
From an early age, Phil Eades showed a keen interest in brass bands and particularly in the cornet. At the age of 7 and after just a few lessons, Phil joined the local Salvation Army band riding around the northern NSW town of Murwillumbah in a converted ute owned by the local bandmaster (Those were the days!) playing Christmas carols.
Bill was conscripted into the South African Defence Force Reserve in 1964. After the conclusion of his compulsory Military Service he continued on and served his Regiment as Principal Clarinettist and later as Bandmaster.
